This is from a photograph I took in Maui at the Botanical Gardens. The background is painted in the kaleidoscope technique. This painting is mostly watercolor with a touch of Prismacolor pencil. I used a white crayon as a resist and for texture in the bark of the tree. It is matted in an acid free off white double mat. It has a foam core backing. The image is approx. 17"x22.75" and the mat is a standard size 24"x30".
